Reflection
As the glorious sun was setting in the
west,
A heavenly glow upon the earth was
cast.
A woman, her family settled and
evening chores done
Strolled slowly along the river bank to
be alone.
She stood on the bridge looking into the
river
As the rushing water tumbled and
swirled silver.
Her thoughts as in a dream became
enshrined
Reflected were the souls of all
mankind.
Deep in dark murky waters caught in a
dangerous undertow,
Were idolaters, the liars, the greedy,
masters of deception,
The selfish, those of little faith, who had
sunk so low.
Floating above the dark waters were
God's chosen children,
Full of compassion, forgiveness,
courage, the faithful few,
Those with generous loving hearts, the
ones without sin.
She stood with thanksgiving and looked
to the heavens above,
There she saw Faith, Hope, Mercy and
Grace securely enfolded
in the arms of Love.
